Northeast region’s Inclusiveness and Flexibility Leader
Wendy Hirschberg is the Northeast Region’s Inclusiveness and Flexibility Leader (IFL). Wendy joined the Northeast Region from the Americas Center of Expertise for Inclusiveness (COE), where she worked as a lead strategist. As the Northeast IFL, Wendy works closely with our leadership to develop innovative ways to differentially invest in career development for diverse professionals, leverages our professional networks and has an internal certification for coaching. In her capacity as IFL, she has informally acted as a career advisor to many ethnically diverse individuals, men and women experiencing career and family transitions as well as advised on how to navigate some challenges our LGBT population encounter. Wendy has significant experience working on women’s issues, which also inform her coaching.

In addition to working across the US during her 15 years in the COE, Wendy was a liaison to the global diversity team working with Vice Chair, Beth Brooke. She helped the firm’s consultants to develop the content for Leadership Matters, our training efforts that focus on cross cultural skills. She is certified to work with teams leveraging the instrument called the Cultural Orientation Indicator or COI.

Wendy joined Ernst & Young in 1997 after fifteen years at Catalyst, the national not-for-profit organization, which focuses on women’s leadership in the business world and was the first organization to do extensive research on women of color in corporate America. Wendy also consults with EY’s clients, advising them on how to progress with regard to diversity.
